Dr. Zaffina Salvatore serves as an MD Coordinator of the Occupational Medicine Service of the Bambino Gesù Pediatric Hospital, Scientific Research Institute. He was a professor in “Occupational Medicine” at the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery of the “Tor Vergata University” in Rome. He completed his degree in Medicine and Surgery and did post-doctoral specialization in Occupational Medicine at the Catholic University with the highest marks. He received his Master's degree in Clinical Risk Management at the Biomedical Campus. He was the Chief Medical Officer (2007-2016) in charge of the Presidency with the role of Coordinator of the Medical Doctors and Authorized Doctor of Radiation Protection IRCCS Child Jesus Hospital. He serves as Consultant of the Supreme Council of Health in Public Health Section. He published on qualified international journals, and have presented in seminars held at prestigious foreign Universities and international meetings. He is an active Member of many scientific societies including the Italian Society of Occupational Medicine and Industrial Hygiene, of the Italian Association of Medical Radiation Protection and of the Society for Neuroscience. His is researcher of numerous projects funded by public and private bodies of national importance including Italian Ministry for Education, University and Research (MIUR), the Italian Ministry of Health and the Italian Ministry of Labour, INAIL and Catholic University.
His research interests focus on biological effects of ionizing and non ionizing radiation, health surveillance and exposure assessment of chemical agents.
