Danuta Smolka is working as a Lecturer in the Department of Geochemistry, Mineralogy and Petrography at the University of Silesia in Katowice, Poland.
Her research interests include: mineralogy of energy and post-mining waste, geochemistry of potentially toxic elements and rare earths in coal combustion products, concentration of radionuclides in fly ash and bottom ash from fluidized bed combustion, the effect of coal burning on the environment (including individual home furnaces).
